Who are you?

This weeks sermon: August 01, 2010:

10:30am at 'The Burlington Music Center' just West of Guelph Line just North of New St. next to the Central Library in the heart of Burlington ON.

salt

'SALT' and the ever-fabulous Ms. Angie are our jumping off point for an examination of identity this week at THE WELL.

As you'll know, every film has a theme, a message, a through-line.  Every film is, essentially-speaking, a sermon.

So, this week, 'cause it's summer and it's fun, we'll use the 'sermon' that is 'SALT' the movie and build a sermon of our own based on it, going to a passage of scripture and working our way through it with an eye to the questions raised by and themes explored in the film.

(Thursday update)

Having just watched it (and figured out the themes) I thought I'd pick an ICONIC text to preach with this one...

"17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him..."

-2 Cor 5:17-21 (NKJV)

I *KNOW* that's right...

Looking forward to seeing you, 10:30am this Sunday...
